Welcome to episode 1 of Z | The Story. In this episode we explain Edward Richtofen's affiliation to Group 935. We also explain the happenings at Der Riese (The Giant) research base. Richtofen's research pulled him away from the research that Dr. Maxis had instigated. Maxis continued with his farcical investigation into weapons research and his stinted research into matter transference. Edward believed that Dr. Maxis would only hold him back, this would only mean one thing... Dr. Maxis would need to be removed for the good of the 'scheme'.

Der Riese would become the beginning of our story however, it is not where it all began. In the next episode of Z (The Hollow Earth), we explain the other characters entry, the grand scheme starting to take shape and the beginning of the end for Edward Richtofen.
