The PROTON X70 is a car that has dominated the C-segment SUV space since it arrived in 2018, but it was always a flawed product. Its shortcomings were explained away with the most important excuse of them all: Price.

But in 2024 and against more competition than ever before, the X70 has been refreshed with significant aesthetic updates as well as a raft of quality-of-life upgrades that have made PROTON's mid-size SUV so much more competitive in the market. So after having driven it on the track and out in Sabah, we now have the X70 on home ground to put it through extensive testing.
