Growing Algae in a refugium is very beneficial for your reef aquarium. The Algae absorbs nitrates and phosphates in your aquarium what as well as the CO2 and it uses all of that to grow. As The Algae in your refugium or algae reactor and scrubber grows it removes nutrients from your reef tank that you then harvest and physically remove! Algae filtration is a great way to make reef keeping easier and it helps you have a thriving and more successful reef tank!
