Master watchmaker and clockmaker David Walter has done it all. Australian-born and California-based, Walter is a veteran of high horology who was both a contemporary and a peer of watchmaking greats George Daniels and Derek Pratt. From his double pendulum resonance clocks to his all-platinum watches (cases AND movements!), tantalum pocket watches, and exhibition tourbillon regulators, Walter has delivered over two hundred clocks and dozens of hand-crafted watches.

As an accomplished horologist, Walter has worked in every sphere of watchmaking and clockmaking including service, restoration, original art, watchmaker training, and industry commentary. In this far-ranging interview with Tim Mosso, David Walter discusses his early career, formative days working in Europe for Omega, and his latest ventures. With the last examples of the David Walter "White" watch almost ready for delivery, the new model, dubbed, "Ecru," will be Walter's first center-seconds wristwatch.
