About The Chi-Tones™

Inspired by the people, places and things found in search of empty waves, deep powder snow, flowy single-track, and tasty tacos, The Chi-Tones™ pull listeners into the sonic realm of classic 1960's surf scenes; vintage western motifs; dusty, sun-baked, desert stand-offs; and far-out, far-flung, psychedelic journeys, south of the border.

Haunting, tube-driven electric guitars drenched in reverb; tribal, percussive elements intertwined with rhythmic, primal drums; otherworldly instrumentation; and mystical soundscapes collide in a groundswell of emotion ranging from romantic and playful to mysterious, elusive and sinister.

SALSIPUEDES, the debut full-length release from The Chi-Tones, features twelve original songs - all written, performed, recorded and produced by multi-instrumentalist Chi McClean in Nashville, Tennessee. Accompanied by Miles McPherson on drums, mixed by Buckley Miller at Big Art, and mastered by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound, McClean pays tribute to the original pioneers of surf rock while carving out a new sound that fans of The Ventures, Dick Dale, and Duane Eddy will instantly appreciate.
