In 1934 german manufacturers Mercedes and Auto Union went racing: with the finacial support from the goverment and brilliant engineering they soon became the dominant force in grand prix racing from the beginning until the outbreak of ww2, dispite the pass of time their legacy endures alongside that of their drivers, who sat on top of a fuel tank, with no seatbelt or helmet, taming machines that could run at +300 kph on very small tyres, they are with no doubt the greatest racers that have existed.
This documentary originally was a 2 volume set featuring 105 minutes of glorious archive footage. Written by Chis Nixon, Narrated by Martin Muncaster
