It was a beautiful calm evening at 6pm when my family departed Honiara Domestic Wharf aboard MV Marina, setting out on an adventure toward the Western Province. With the open sea ahead of us and beautiful sunset beyound the sea, we began a 24-hour journey through remote ports and hidden corners of island life.
Each stop brought something new — Outboard Motor gliding in beside the ship, children watching from the shoreline, sharks seen very closed to shore and talented local vendors welcoming passengers with fresh food and handmade crafts. From one port to the next, we experienced the true rhythm of life beyond the city and a glimpse into authentic Solomon Islands culture.
This journey wasn’t just about reaching our destination — it was about discovering the stories, places, people, and raw beauty that live along the way in western Province. Come along and experience this island adventure with us.
