In this video, we’re sharing how we’re preparing our orchard and garden for spring, and what that looks like in real life during our first year caring for such a large piece of land.
Since moving here, we’ve been hit by several storms that left a tree in the garden weakened and unsafe. That led to a difficult but necessary decision, and we show how we safely dealt with the damage and reused what we could.
Along the way, we’re also:
Pruning apple trees in the orchard and explaining where and why we cut
Tidying fallen leaves and clearing the garden
Composting and recycling garden waste where possible
Making fresh apple juice from our apples
