The Honda Civic was first unveiled by the Japanese manufacturer in 1972 and was an instant hit. The Civics' initial pull was due to its reliability and efficiency, but as the years rolled by it gained a reputation as a performance car. This car’s popularity has stood the test of time, with Honda producing eleven generations of the Civic.

Despite being popular with gearheads, the Honda Civic has gone through some rather unremarkable redesigns, and Honda engineered many editions with family daily drivers in mind. The period between 2000 and 2017 springs to mind. There have, however, been some memorable models over the decades, such as the Type R, VTi, and SiR Civics. There has even been a limited edition Civic to celebrate Honda’s relationship with the Jordan F1 team that was particularly quick.
