Shawna K. Metzger is Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Government at the College of William & Mary. She received her BS from the Rochester Institute of Technology (2007) and her MA and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh (2009, 2013). Her substantive research primarily examines the interplay between disputed issues and interstate conflict, and her methodological research primarily focuses on duration models, particularly their ability to model complex political processes. Her work is published or forthcoming in Conflict Management and Peace Science, International Interactions, International Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Conflict Resolution, the Journal of Legislative Studies, Political Analysis, PS: Political Science & Politics, and Stata Journal. Prior to joining William & Mary, she taught in the University Scholars Programme at the National University of Singapore for five years.
