rory&clara au | doctor who

I'm just going to apologize in advance for the sloppy plot. I'm sorry, AUs are hard. I just really wanted to make this one. Um I don't really know how to coherently make an AU since this is my first. The next one, if there is a next one, will be better I promise.

The beginning of this video is very plot heavy, but it gets better.

Basically, this is just me trying to make sense of what I pieced together.

It is after Angels Take Manhattan, in a world where the Asylum of the Daleks never happened. For the purposes of this AU just ignore Amy ok sorry.

Rory gets sent somewhere by the angel. That somewhere is the Dalek Asylum. There he meets Clara, who asks Rory for his help in her escape. Being Rory, he does just as she says and they find a teleport to get them out. Something goes wonky with the teleporter (may it be some weird residual energy left from the angel or something else). Clara and Rory get sent into an alternate universe. Only, Clara can't remember what happened. Rory calls the Doctor, and he comes running, not because of the Clara dilemma, but because he thought Rory had died. Clara comes into the TARDIS looking for answers, but finds an entire world. The Doctor then decides to take both of them travelling across time and space.

As the travelling goes, Clara starts remembering more bits about the Dalek Asylum at a time. When asked what happened to her, the Doctor tells her. The memories shoot into her and she remembers all of it, even the parts that Rory couldn't. It turns out that the automated Dalek Converter was turning Clara into a Dalek just as Rory fixed the teleport. Rory couldn't remember that bit because he didn't want to. The Doctor, however, is enraged and he doesn't believe that this Clara is possible anymore. The Doctor tries to leave her, but Rory defends her and lets her back in. Eventually Clara does earn the Doctor's trust again when she saved Rory.
