Man you gotta love this theme. Axelrod777's version from back in the day was one of the MPC's that first got me into Mario Paint, though I was feeling like the song could use a modern arrangement.
I'm really happy with this one, I tried to put as much care into it as possible. Also, I kept surprising myself with the instrumentation. For one, the Goomba has shown me it has so much potential. Despite it sounding pretty harsh on its own, I was able to use it to help create both a held bass sound and blaring trombone pops. I lend that little dude my respect.
I added a mini treat at the end to round things out, as you'll see. I couldn't not do it, I find that sound effect and visual so inextricably tied to the end of this theme after all these years.
