Animation Is Not A Genre

In this video I discuss the culture around animation within the film industry. Too often it is used as an encapsulation of an entire genre of movies when in reality animation is a medium rather than a genre. It is a tool with which to tell a story and not a description of what a story will be about. This has become a hot topic recently with the upcoming release of Guillermo Del Toro's Pinocchio.
