We covered Johnny Carson's last week on the air for WFLA. Steve Overton, Rugene Moore, Steve Powell and I sat in Johnny's last show, May 22, 1992. Overton & I sneaked into the Tonight Show studio the Monday of the last week. Leno was rehearsing in the next studio.
We hurried and shot the empty studio shots and stand-up before anyone from NBC caught us. As soon as the last show was over, they locked down the studio to make sure no one took anything.
