A Day of Driving Around Central PA

In my Doug Demuro parody video, I mentioned I drove the car 7-8 hours the previous day, and the reason was this video. This is something different for me, I don't normally make travel videos, but I decided to put as many miles on the Cayman as I could while I had it and visit some places on my Central PA bucket list.

First I looked for some trails and scenic views in Sproul State Forest, south of Renovo. This is one of the most remote parts of the state, and sits at a pretty high elevation for the state. Not to mention the nice driving roads on the way up.

Next I hit up the world famous Denny's Beer Barrel Pub in Clearfield. I've heard of this place since I was a kid and always wanted to visit, but my travels never really took me that way. I knew I had to order something bigger than normal, but didn't want to get something ridiculous like a 7 or 25lb burger, so I settled for the biggest I thought I could realistically finish, the 1lb. It was frankly a bit much, and I see why most restaurants max their burger patties out at 1/2lb.

My final stop that day was the Piper Aviation Museum in Lock Haven. On paper, a bunch of 1-or-2-prop civilian planes might not seem very exciting, but it was actually rather interesting. Then again, I have an interest in aviation, albeit more military than civilian. For a museum far off the beaten path, they have a respectable collection, and the staff were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the company's history, memorabilia, and the planes themselves. This may be my inner aviation geek talking, but I'd highly recommend it.

Again, I don't plan on making another video like this any time soon, if ever, but I upload so infrequently and inconsistently, I figured I might as well seize the moment while the spirit struck me.
