In this episode we continue our RX-7 FD fuel pump upgrade from Episode 41 (    • Essex Rotary Quick Vid 41 - How To Remove ...   ) We remove the original fuel pump as we know its an OEM unit that will not be up to the demands of this customers planned future modifications. We cover everything you need to do to make successfully upgrade your pump to an Aeromotive Stealth 340 fuel pump or similar style.

This is not overly difficult assuming there has not been a moron in there before damaging things, BUT please remember that your fuel pump is what delivers the required fuel up to your fuel rail and injectors, an improperly installed or set up pump can cause major engine damage. If you are not confident in undertaking this procedure then re would recommend you seem the help of an experienced and trusted rotary specialist in your area.

Tools and Parts You Will Need;
Fuel Pump - We Recommend the Aeromotive Stealth 340*
Stainless Steel Worm Drive Clamp
Open Barrel Splice/Crimps
A Crimp Tool suitable for your choice of splice or crimp
Wire Strippers - We are using Stripmasters
Raychem DR-25 or similar fuel resistant heat shrink
Small Flat Head Screwdriver
Number 2 Phillips Screwdriver
Hose Pliers
Angles long nose pliers
Cable Ties for securing the cables in place on the pump hanger
10mm Socket and Ratchet
another 10mm socket as you will lose the first
WD-40
Shop Rags
Fire Extinguisher.... hoping you don't need to use it.
1 third 10mm socket as you will no doubt miss-place the backup 10mm
