PREY IS ONE OF THE BEST IN THE PREDATOR FRANCHISE! Tessa (Mama’s Geeky) and her daughter Lorie watch Prey (2022) — the thrilling and brutal prequel to the Predator franchise - all leading up to Predator: Badlands! We were absolutely blown away by how intense, emotional, and beautifully crafted this film is. Directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), Prey stars Amber Midthunder (Legion, Roswell, New Mexico) as Naru, a fierce young Comanche warrior who must prove herself as a hunter when a terrifying, unseen predator begins stalking her tribe. Rounding out the incredible cast are Dakota Beavers, Dane DiLiegro as the Predator, and Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home). From the breathtaking cinematography and the authentic Comanche representation to the heart-pounding action sequences, this movie delivers on every level. We were especially stunned by Naru’s clever traps, the bear fight scene, and that jaw-dropping final showdown — what a perfect callback to the original Predator! Lorie was completely hooked, cheering for Naru’s courage and ingenuity, while Tessa couldn’t stop talking about how powerful and grounded the story felt. The balance of horror, survival, and empowerment makes Prey one of the best modern entries in the Predator universe. We loved watching this together — the tension, the fear, and the victory — it’s everything we love about sci-fi horror done right.
