This tutorial is on how to make a three point edit using Adobe Premier Pro CS5.5.
A three point edit is an editing technique used to overwrite a section of a clip in the main time line panel. By setting three in and out points between the source monitor and the main timeline panel you can overwrite clips.
Step 1: Select your in point in the main timeline and press "i" or place a in point marker.
Step 2: In the Source Panel find your starting and end points and mark them with in and out points.
Step 3: Between the insert icon and the camera icon click the "overwrite" icon to place your clip.
There are a couple ways to do this in this video we are setting the in and out points in the source monitor and an in point in the main timeline.
