ATPL Theory: Drag Parasite and Induced ✈
Just to clarify speed doesn't replace lift literally, but and increase in speed means we can decrease other factors such as surface area or angle of attack, al this maintaining Lift constant of course.
Drag can be broken down as follows
1. Parasite
2. Induced
Within Parasite drag we can again brake it down into 3 parts:
1. Skin friction
2. Form drag
3. Interference
1+2 can be called profile drag.
Interference drag is drag that is generated by the mixing of airflow streamlines between airframe components.
