Quadrature Amplitude Modulation allows to transmit two signals over a single radio channel. It was used in analog TV to transmit the two dimensional color information. It is the basis for software defined radio. Digital communications like WiFi, mobile phones or ADSL use a quantized version of it. This video shows a geometric view of the modulation and demodulation method using rotation matrices in a plane.
