Rabeliechtli - Swiss Tradition | Making of Rabeliechtli (Turnip Lantern)

Rabeliechtli (small turnip lanterns) is a charming Swiss tradition, symbolizing warmth and light during the cold winter months. 🕯️ 'Rabe' means turnip, and 'Liechtli' means small lantern, and together they create the perfect way to celebrate the end of the harvest and the start of winter. ❄️

In Switzerland, this tradition is celebrated every autumn, lighting up the streets with beautifully carved turnips, but we also celebrated this wonderful tradition in the Netherlands, where it’s known as St. Martin’s Day! 🎉
