Still travelling north we leave the Trent & Mersey Canal and emerge from Preston Brook Tunnel onto the Bridgewater Canal. This is owned and operated by Peel Holdings and not the Canal and River Trust. There is a reciprical arrangements to allow passage for CRT registered craft but extend your stay and an additional short term licence is required.
This part of the journey is well known to us and takes us through Stockton Heath, Grappenhall and Lymm towards Dunham Park where there are rural moorings close to the Hall, Park and Gardens. A short respite before we head next time through the Urban areas south of Manchester.
