By 1972 the Spinners had moved from sitting on the shelf at Motown, to a rejuvenated career with Atlantic Records. Thom Bell at Philadelphia International Records contributed immensely to that success. Mervin and Melvin Steals, twin brothers from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania had a song that they wrote, and they brought it to Thom Bell. "Could It Be I'm Falling In Love" was the 2d single released by The Spinners on this self-titled album, after "I'll Be Around." It was no. 1 on the R&B chart, and no. 4 on the pop chart at Billboard. Melvin and his wife Adrena, about whom the song was penned, tell Tom about their magical, musical journey.
