An incredible night under the lights at Rotherham United’s New York Stadium as AFP Pewter Pot of the Rotherham & District Sunday League took on Wombwell Main of the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League in the Rotherham Charity Cup Final!

Before kick-off, I caught up with Chris, the long-serving tournament President who's been involved since 1989, about the history and charitable impact of this brilliant competition for Rotherham’s community. I also spoke with AFP manager Scott about their impressive season and the other finals they’ve got lined up! Over in the Wombwell camp, manager Terry gave insight into their journey this season and the task at hand tonight.

Wombwell Main started strong and took the lead with a stunning strike from a tight angle – an early goal-of-the-season contender! But AFP answered with intent, scoring twice in six minutes to turn the game on its head before half-time. From there, it was all AFP. Relentless, clinical, and energetic — they powered through the second half to seal a dominant 6-1 victory! And let’s not forget that fifth goal… WOW. What. A. Hit. 💥
