It was time for me to replace the fuel filter in my Mercruiser 4.5 L V6 Alpha 1. This is a different design filter than my older 5.0 V8 Mercruiser. Rather than a steel spin-on like an oil filter, this one is a plastic element that threads into a plastic housing. It seems a little tricky, but it's not hard. It uses Mercury-Mercruiser 35-8M0122423 Quicksilver Fuel Filter.
Warning - Gasoline is flammable / explosive - Extra caution is required handling fuel to prevent fires.
