This video features ex GWR locomotive No. 7029 'CLUN CASTLE' and Class 37 No. 37240. We start off in the Birmingham area with the ECS from Tyseley Steam Trust to Birmingham New Street. A short distance away we see 37240 on a positioning move at St. Andrew's Bank. This was to position the 37 at the front of the train at Small Heath for the journey down to the London area. CLUN CASTLE follows a short while after with great sounds as she climbs the bank. Next we have a still shot from Andrew taken at Royal Oak, just outside London Paddington Station. The finale was recorded at Bromsgrove Station and what a sensational sight and sound this turned out to be as it prepared to tackle the infamous Lickey Bank.
This was the final outing for CLUN CASTLE prior to being withdrawn for an overhaul.
I hope you enjoy this video.
