The history behind Jim McVay's Gotcha fly is almost a cliché. Years ago, McVay snipped some tan carpet fibers from an Andros Island taxi cab and used them to tie a small shrimp pattern for bonefish. The bonefish loved the fly, and each time McVay hooked a bone, his guide would say, "Gotcha." The McVay Gotcha was born. A super effective saltwater pattern, which is very simple to tie. This is a go to Bonefish pattern for most guys at the shop. Here is my version of a Gotcha.
