A winter storm that is working through the Central Plains New Year's Eve and New Years Day is bringing nightmare travel conditions to the region. 2 to 4 inches of snow, and freezing rain resulted in several wrecks, and over 16, 500 without power due to downed power lines and transformers blowing.
