Man! Clack! Clack! Clack! If you have heard this sound behind he dashboard of your Jeep JK, you will know what I am trying to describe. It started after JK turned 10 years old, 120K miles. When you move A/C control for Hot vs. Cold air, you will hear a LOUD sound behind the radio. It sounds like a Woodpecker (You can hear at 1-minute into this video).
The fix is relatively easy for someone to do themselves. You just need to follow the correct videos. I viewed 4 or 5 and found a few new things I mention in this video. After 45-minutes I had the part replaced and a super smooth operation of my Hot/Cold vents. (You can see at 9-minutes into this video)
If you are headed to Moab next week for Easter Jeep Safari, this may just make your wheeling more enjoyable. Temperatures will be changing... so this part will be working overtime! Enjoy the beautiful trails and great comraderie!
