Taoiseach believes Donald Trump is open to negotiations over tariffs

The Taoiseach has said he believes that US President Donald Trump is open to negotiations in relation to tariffs.
Speaking on RTÉ's Six One News, Micheál Martin said that such discussions need to be given an opportunity.
He said that whilst Europe had designed counter-measures, the preference was negotiations and this would be the sensible approach.
Mr Martin said that tariffs were bad and the US decision was the wrong decision which would damage the world economy and pause investment decisions, which he said was "good for nobody".
