"Trying Not to Love You" (Jamie ♥ Claire) - Outlander

PLEASE READ: (Lyrics & dialogue below) – update (4/2018): an apology- over the years, since I posted this, the dialogue I put in has gotten strange sounding - I guess over time it wears down. It did not sound anywhere near as bad as it does here- and you could actually hear it well...The good news is I have been learning a few tricks to make the dialogue stronger and clearer - bad news, I won't know if the tricks work until a few years from now when I go back and look at those vids. ha! Oh, well. I tried, and will keep on trying... Watch in HD for best experience. :) Story follows lyrics- mostly in Jamie’s POV, some in Claire’s. After hearing Jamie tell Claire for the first time, in the 12th eppie that he loved her since their 1st night at Leoch, I felt this song perfect for them, to show Jamie’s struggle with his love for Claire, since Day One, and later after they married, hiding his true feelings, since he believed she didn’t feel the same and only married him for protection. In the last verse, the song also becomes Claire’s, showing that all the months Jamie struggled, she also struggled not to love him (which I showed bits and pieces of earlier, though he didn't know it til she came back to him, and didn't say it, until he did ;-))…symbolism- some literal, some abstract- i.e.- “But if there’s a pill to help me forget”- I show Claire at her work, using medicines to try to forget her situation, etc. The sparks effect shows the passion/love always present between them, despite their fights and distance, and later, how their love strengthened and held them together through the harsh trials they suffered. The cloudy/colored clips are memories they are having at the time. The rest of symbolism take as you will- no more room to write. lol – sparkle clips credit- spheres of love and Screen Art.

C- Fine!
