The top four ranked players in the world compete to crown a new #1 player in Blitzball. For this matchup, we’ve got a duel between two players who entered the Blitzball scene together back in 2020—and now, both are fighting to keep their tournament hopes alive: Sammy Reazer vs Joey DiMeo.

Both of these guys sit at 0-1 and are staring straight at elimination. Sammy Reazer has been on this stage before, and when his bat gets going, he can put up runs in bunches. In his first game, he blasted 8 runs off the lefty Adam Knudsen, including a massive grand slam. But the downside? He also allowed 10 runs and recorded just one out. His offense is his weapon—his pitching is the question.

Joey DiMeo is the opposite. He’s built his reputation on the mound, carving hitters with elite stuff and an insane riser. But in his tournament opener, he got blown out by the #1 ranked Trent Severino, exposing the one area he absolutely needs today: the bat. When he’s hitting, he’s dangerous—but he needs that version of himself now more than ever.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Round-robin format: all four players face each other once
Every player plays 3 total games
After the round robin, the top 2 advance to the final
Winner of the final becomes the #1 ranked Blitzball player
Sweep Rule: If any player goes 3–0, the tournament ends immediately—no final is played, and they are automatically crowned #1 Rank

TOURNAMENT RULES
Game Length: 2-inning games
Innings: 3 outs per half inning
Count: 6 balls = walk, 3 strikes = strikeout
HBP Rule: 2 hit-by-pitches = walk
Hitting / Scoring:
Single: ball reaches the outfield grass
Double: ball reaches the fence or lands in the outfield grass
Triple: ball hits off the fence
Home Run: ball goes over the fence
Defense:
Ground ball out: defender stops it before the outfield grass
Fly ball out: defender catches it before it hits the ground
Run Limit: Max 5 runs per half inning
Run Rule: If a player leads by more than 5 runs in the second inning, the game ends immediately
