Stationeers Titan Part 29 : Theory Is All Good But Will It Work?

This Stationeers Titan episode is about finding out whether an idea actually works in practice.

I finish off a few remaining jobs around the new furnace setup, then I'm ready to feed it properly to see what happens.

First I need to capture some superheated volatiles so a short mining trip is in order. I stock up on volatile ice and nitrice, light up the main furnace and see what I can do...

Once that's running, everything downstream should become much more scalable so testing this process is critical before I start thinking about how to automate it and how I might need to re-route the outputs from my miners.

So obviously there’s still a lot of work to do to make this reliable and automated, handle edge cases like running out of hot volatiles and avoiding power outages. But Titan provides volatiles in the atmosphere and hydrocarbons in the ground so if I can automate the extraction of both and heating of the H2 then this plan could be great.

But before any of that the key question is whether the loop will work at all...
