Taking an image using a remote astronomy facility

Bill demonstrates how we can do some astrophotography using a remote facility two hours' drive from his house.

In this video, Bill shows one of several ways to operate a remote dome. This one is a 2 metre ScopeDome about two hours' drive north of Melbourne. In it is a CEM40 with a SkyWatcher Esprit, and a QHY 268C camera.

The software we use is Voyager, and Bill uses the Voyager Web Dashboard for this particular image - a fairly simple stack of T Coronae Borealis.

In broad steps, the procedure is that we:
ensure the environmental conditions at the site are good
connect to the remote dome's imaging computer using Anydesk or equivalent)
use the Web Dashboard to run a script that prepares the facility
use the Web Dashboard to find the target and get the images
run a script that returns the facility to its resting state

Clearly there are many more sophisticated ways of running a remote facility, from using Voyager's on-the-fly interface directly, running sequences in Voyager or running the entire facility autonomously. These are not something we wanted to cover in this video.
