This problem likely affects the 2007 to 2013 GM trucks. Right intermediate axle shaft pulls out of the housing due to a failed snap ring and thrust washer. When this occurs the axle disconnects from the locking mechanism and does not drive the front wheels. I believe the condition is agrivated by the installation of a leveling kit which changes the front CV shaft geometry. This tends to "pull" the axle against the internal snap ring.
