Post-Graduation Work Permits, or PGWP, are for international students who wish to live and build a career in Canada after completing graduation from a Canadian institute.

International students can continue to live in Canada and start a new life there after graduating from a post-secondary educational program with the help of the Post-Graduation Work Permit program.

The PGWP program gives international students an open work permit for three years, enabling them to work for a Canadian employer without any restrictions after graduating from a Canadian designated learning institution, or DLI. Under this program, students do not need a job offer to submit their application. Plus, they can choose to work for any employer.

It should be noted that although this program gives permits extending for up to three years, the actual length of an applicant’s permit depends on the duration of their educational program.
