Kedarkantha winter trek is mostly done from the Sankri region. But with Yash Sharma you will get to explore it from a new route - Khedmi Village.

To do Kedarkantha trek in December or January, you will have to reach Dehradun, the capital of Uttrakhand. Volvo buses travel here from New Delhi everyday. From Dehradun you will have to make an 8 hours road journey to Sankri or Khedmi Village. First night you will stay in a village homestay. Next morning you will begin your trek to the base camp which is at 10,500 ft. It will take you 4-8 hours to reach here, depending upon your speed. The trek route is one of the steepest in our experince. Second night you will spend in your base camp located between serene meadows. The next morning you begin your journey to Summit which is at 12,500 ft. The route to summit is extremely adventurous, and beautiful. It will take you about 3-6 hours to cover an elevation of 2,500 ft. And once you reach the top, you will have a 360 degree view of the Greater Himalyas. You will also find a Ganesh mandir at the top.
