Animatic | Star Wars Defiance: A Fan Series | Chapter 1: Where Jedi Go to Die

"Arru Oksis, a Jedi padawan who survived the Jedi Purge, is captured by the the evil Galactic Empire. Rather than kill him, Arru is being tortured and tormented at Fortress Inquisitorius by the sinister 16th Brother, in an effort to turn the young Jedi into an Inquisitor himself. Although Arru is far from their ideal choice, the Inquisitors will however soon realize, they are dealing with one of their most defiant prisoners yet....."

'Star Wars Defiance: A Fan Series' is a Animatic series, set between the events of Saber Club's 'Star Wars Darkness: A Fan Film' and 'Star Wars Dawn: A Fan Film', and depicts the time of Arru Oksis as a captive of the Inquisitorius. A story about fighting for your ideals and hope, when the whole galaxy keeps punishing you for it.


While developing 'Star Wars Dawn: A Fan Film', Jan Keller asked the crew to develop backstories for our characters, to inform our performances and motivations. So Luca, who plays Arru, wrote down some logs of Arru's time at Fortress Inq, to challenge himself in dark storytelling and to give any dying character a name and spotlight. The logs turned into a mini book that the crew was excited about and said: "Would be cool if this was shown in an animatic."

Luca recently found a joy in making storyboards/animatics and he's looking to make a career in it. It combines his hobbies of drawing, storytelling and editing into one. A quick way to put what plays in his head, on screen.
The result is this first chapter: 'Where Jedi Go to Die'.

But this is just the beginning....
