While Old English and Old Norse are both related Germanic languages, they were also different, having developed for hundreds of years from Pgmc.
This video will give a number of examples how north and west Germanic languages developed differently, and that they probably would have to familiarize themselves with different grammar and vocabulary to avoid misunderstanding.
