This video lecture is about the Instruction Formats. A computer performs a task based on the instruction provided.

The most common fields are:
1) Operation field: specifies the operation to be performed like addition
2) Address field: contains the location of the operand, i.e., register or memory location
3) Mode field: specifies how operand is to be founded
Generally, CPU organization is of three types based on the number of address fields:
1) Single Accumulator organization
2) General register organization
3) Stack organization

Example: we will use X = (A+B)*(C+D) expression to show various instruction formats i.e. Three Address Instructions, Two Address Instructions, One Address Instructions, Zero Address Instructions.
