Train Cab Ride NL / Spring is Here! / Enschede - Amersfoort - Amsterdam / ICM + SNG / April 2024

With one day delay.... Are you ready for a brand new ride? This time I will take you with me on a tour from east to west. We start the ride with the all mighty ICM intercity from Enschede via Hengelo, Almelo, Deventer and Apeldoorn to Amersfoort. After that we'll change trains to the sprinter service to Amsterdam making stops on all stations between Amersfoort and Amsterdam. A total of 2 hours and 10 minutes for you to enjoy.

In Enschede was a marathon going on at the day of the recording. On departure we give the runners some extra motivation by sounding the horns for them. Let the crowd go wild!

2:27 Unique Speed Limit
We have loads of speed limits that won't be shown on the ATB speed system. But this is pretty unique one. Check out the white speed sign next to the track. Numbers times 10 gives you the maximum allowed speed.

2:58 Train Dispatcher Testen Emergency Line
Every ones in a while the train dispatcher makes sure the emergency line is still working. He sends out a group call via that line and asks me in this case to call him back. When I do so he tells me he wall testing the line and wanted to know if I heard everything he said in the group call. All worked fine!

Just before Hengelo the tracks coming from Germany join in on the right. At this station the train manager will beep me up on the transceiver to abort the departure process. I was asked to re-open the doors for some passengers. No problem. But we must keep the train up to speed after this happens.

17:55 Almelo de Riet + Almelo
Arriving at Almelo. Between de Riet and the main station you can see we're diving 'under ground' for a while. On arrival in Almelo our ATB system does not get a code from the tracks. We must drive on sight for a short time. After that we report back to the train dispatcher.

As promised in my last ICNG video a brand new closer update of the Dijkgracht constructions. As you can see the dive-under / fly-over is getting its shape already.

And we arrive at the final stop for this video. Welcome at Amsterdam Centraal. We pass almost the whole station because we need to make a stop on the a-side of the station.
