33 years old at the time.Mr. Mikami was in a streetcar 1.9km from the hypocenter when the bomb was dropped. He was a firefighter, and on the morning of August 6 he was on his way to his home in Sakai-cho from Ujina station where he had just finished work. His family had evacuated the day before the bomb was dropped.
