Hi, I’m Ian and I live in Surrey in the UK.
This is the third in a series of videos I’m doing during spring on the Pillars of Creation within the Eagle Nebula, M16.
In the first video I showed my set up and how I used Deep Sky Stacker to stack the images and at the end of the video showed the final stacked image with just 7 sub-frames and in the second video I showed how to stack multiple nights in Deep Sky Stacker and an image with 16 frames.
In this third video I show how to use SubframeSelector and Blink in PixInsight to select only the best frames for stacking. The final image now has 26 images.
I plan to take more of these images over the coming weeks as the nebula rises earlier and earlier in the night and see how the image improves with each set of added data.
I will also hope to show in different videos, how I use NoiseXTermontor in Pixinsight and how I split the colour channels to get a more Hubble Palette type of image.
