"The sources comes from Watchman Nee’s teachings which highlight a central theme in Watchman Nee’s teachings: the Christian life is not a struggle to attain spiritual blessings but a rest in what Christ has already accomplished. The ""Sabbath rest"" is described as the cessation of activity motivated by anxiety, allowing believers to work with God rather than for Him.
The primary obstacle to this life is spiritual blindness—the ignorance of our existing riches in Christ. To overcome this, believers must adjust their soul's focus from visible problems to unseen spiritual realities. This adjustment involves five steps:
1. Recognizing spiritual blindness and asking for ""eye salve"".
2. Meditating on the Word of God as the lens of reality.
3. Communing in God’s presence to unveil His glory.
4. Practicing obedience, which sharpens spiritual perception.
5. Cultivating a broken heart, as humility removes the scales of pride.
Nee distinguishes between position (our perfect status in Christ) and experience (our daily walk). While we are positionally seated in heavenly places and dead to sin, these realities manifest in our experience only through faith and surrender. Faith acknowledges what is already true, while surrender removes the obstacles to Christ living His life through us.
Ultimately, the ""Normal Christian Life"" is a shift from doing to being. Instead of living like ""beggars"" pleading for crumbs, believers must live as ""heirs"" of the King, recognizing they are already accepted, loved, and victorious in Him."
