GO's route 54 is a branch of the 52-54-56 Oshawa/Oakville bus service that follows Highway 407, adding service between Highway 407 subway station and Unionville GO Station before breaking off and following the 71 Stouffville route through the old Town of Markham to Mount Joy GO Station. On a bright but cold day near the winter solstice, Transit Toronto editor James Bow rode this double-decker bus to Mount Joy and back (partially), in the front seat of the upper level, catching some interesting scenery and a beautiful sunset.
