In this video we address the question we get asked all the time: you have a lot of breeding videos on #linebreeding and #inbreeding, and #outcrossing, but what advice would you give me as a breeder to start a breeding program and create a line of dogs in my yard?

Boosting the #genetics of your #dogbreeding can be done in multiple ways.
You can improve the consistency of traits and temperament of your dogs if you have a concrete plan of action to follow.
We assume you have already watched all the other videos on this channel about Bracket's Formula, understand COI and COR, and understanding the difference between line breeding and inbreeding. You heard multiple strategies explain. However, you still don't know what to do, and how to begin.

This video series is in 3 parts:
Part1: You start off with very mildly related dogs 4 or 5 generations ago.
Part2: You start off with completely outcrossed dogs as your first step.
Part3: How would you create a whole new breed from 3 existing breeds if you had to do so? How can the concepts of creating a line of dogs (a breed within a breed) be further extended to create something that will breed true and not just be a mix?

Focus: Reintroducing or strengthening traits from ancestral dogs is the mechanism of back-massing, or accumulation of genes from a common terrific ancestor.

Goal: To resurrect or enhance specific traits that might have diminished over generations.

In essence, linebreeding is about maintaining a specific bloodline while back-massing is about selectively introducing traits from the past into the present line. The dogs are not closely related in the immediate family but related to a common grandparent or great grandparent. Back-breeding is breeding back, directly, to the previous ancestor if he's still alive. If not, back massing concentrate his genes from his descendant of he is repeated often enough in the pedigree.
