This "meme" or whatever you want to call it, first appeared around 2007 apparently, but I hadn't seen it until maybe 5-6 years ago. I'm doing research for this as I'm typing and it appears the version with crossed out text first appeared on facebook in 2017. Either way, its been really spot on to how people act particularly on the internet, which seems to be becoming a more prominent part of our lives.
Even when it comes to some things like Magic the Gathering for example, you essentially get your news for it through social media, otherwise you're basically left out in the dark. Its pretty weird. Unless of course you regularly check their website but most people don't really visit websites like that as regularly like that it seems. I'm tempted to do a video on the "Dead Internet Theory" because I find it very interesting compared to how the internet was in the early 2000s.

This was a pretty spontaneous creation, I wrote the script and filmed it the same day. Thumbnail is pretty awful, but that's okay!
Thank you so much for listening and watching, it really means a lot to me 💚
