Is Edinburgh The World's Most Beautiful City?

It's our first time in Edinburgh Scotland but it doesn't take us long to find out why it's the world's most beautiful city!

Starting our day with coffee and pastries at Cairngorm Coffee gets us fuelled for a day of exploration which begins at the picturesque Dean Village along the Waters of Leith. Energised by Edinburgh's beauty we take on the climb up Calton Hill for some spectacular 360 panoramic views of the Scottish capital.

Having built up an appetite we tuck in to a haggis pie before continuing to explore the city from Greyfriars Kirkyard to the National Museum of Scotland and up the Royal Mile. We witness the firing of the famous 1 o'clock gun at Edinburgh Castle before grabbing ourselves a coffee at the Hideout to warm us up.

What better way to end our day in Edinburgh than outside the Scottish Parliament building & Holyrood Palace with some incredible views of Arthur's Seat (oh and it starts to rain, it is Scotland after all!).

Who & what is JJ Extra?

We’re Josh & Jason, a British couple with a passion for everything travel & food (and lots of coffee). Whether at home in the UK or on our international travels we seek out everything from hidden gems to bucket list destinations, trying new foods and unique drinks wherever we go.

After meeting in early 2019 with dreams of travelling the World together we were all plunged in to the chaos of a global pandemic. Now, as we move in to the future we are making up for lost time and ensuring every day turns in to an adventure, fuelled by our love of food and an unhealthy (but enjoyable) addiction to coffee.

Over the last 2 years we have explored our beautiful home country like never before and in 2022 we were lucky enough to start travelling abroad once more and our dream to travel the world together has been reignited.

We love an adventure and in 2023 we are challenging ourselves to step out of our comfort zones & push ourselves to the limit as we take on bigger adventures than ever before, visit new places & try new experiences. So come along and join the adventure, you never know where it might lead!
