An extremely talented film star Katie Holmes was born in Ohio, US and grew up in an average American family. In the daytime she visited a catholic school and in the evening it was impossible to pull her away from a TV screen. It was at that time when she understood she wanted to be a successful Hollywood actress and started attending school theatre classes. A couple of years later, she was noticed and invited for a casting of Dawson’s Creek, which Holmes passed successfully. This movie made her immediately worldwide recognized and famous. After that, she began acting major roles in such films as Phone Booth, Batman, Mad Money, Thank You for Smoking and so many others. Apart from being a gifted movie star, Katie was also trying to build modeling career but acting eventually won her heart and so, she kept pursuing professional career in this particular sphere, becoming more and more popular not only nationally but internationally too.

In the words of the movie star, her mother, Kathleen is the best parent she could have ever had. She has always been super supportive, caring and loving. Nowadays, Kathleen is busy, being a philanthropist.

The father, Martin works as a lawyer. Like a wife, he is also very close with the daughter. Being a lawyer, he helped her a lot during the divorce with Tom Cruise. And even though he wasn’t very happy with her decision to be a film performer, he has always been supporting her as well as proud of her achievements.

The celebrity has four siblings.

Tamera or how she is kindly called Tammy is an elder sister. She was married to Joseph Fretti and they had been raising two kids together, until their divorce in 2009. A few weeks after that, Fretti was found dead. It was later found out that he had a cardiac arrest. Now Tamera is a single parent but has all the support from family members.

One more elder sister is Holly and she is a mother of three children. According to Katie, she shares a tight bond with all sisters and feels like there is some special connection among all of them.

The only male sibling in a family is an elder brother Martin, who was named after dad. He is a lawyer by profession too.

The third elder sister is Nancy, who works as a teacher.
