A film about the Finnish passenger ship S/S Bore, which is now moored in Turku as a hotel and museum ship.
The ‘Bore’ was built in Sweden in 1960 and used in ferry service between Finland and Sweden, on the Turku–Mariehamn–Stockholm and Helsinki–Stockholm routes.
In 1978, the ship was sold to the Jakob Lines shipping company and renamed ‘Borea’. The ship now sailed, mostly during the summer months, on regular service between Jakobstad and Skellefteå.
In 1984, the Borea was sold to Aura Line and used on the regular service between Turku and Stockholm, but in October of the same year, the shipping company went bankrupt and the ship was laid up.
In 1988, the ship was converted into a cruise ship and renamed Kristina Regina. It undertook cruises in the Baltic Sea, North Sea, Mediterranean and along the west coast of Africa for the Kristina Cruises shipping company.
In 2010, the ship was taken out of service, given back its old name and converted into a hotel and museum ship. It has been moored in the port of Turku ever since.
